What is your opinion about ECT?

    Hello. I am a student nurse and I just observed an ECT being done to my patient. ECT is electroconvulsive therapy indicated for major depression and other major thought disorders. Do you think this is still acceptable today?

    ECT was still the recommended second line of treatment in the standard medical guide to mental illness

    Thank you for sharing this. I just hope that there can be other ways to help these patients. Just like the article on the four goals of psychology, the patient needs support and emotional guidance to help recover.

    Of course, all patients need support and emotional guidance on order for them to recover.
