This is NOT the Wawa Welcome America (Family) Festival.
This is the Jay-Z "Made in America Festival"
JAY-Z - Big Pimpin' ft. UGK - YouTube

This was a wildly unnecessary and nasty response. I did not claim to have any perfect solution, I acknowledged improvements since the first year (by the way, Mr. Ignorance, it's been held for three years), and I did not pat myself on the back. For heaven's sake, can't we have an even remotely civil discussion on this board? We can disagree without suggesting that anyone who disagrees with us is a selfish moron.

If you'll notice, I still live here. If the festival and other city events was that much of a dealbreaker for me I already would have moved away. That does not mean that I can't bring up concerns about it. I understand that you do not agree with them; fine. I can accept that without suggesting that you're an ignorant selfish bastard, although I certainly don't think much of your people skills.

Fair point about the Mann. Little transit to even less transit. The stadiums were just a suggestion because they already have facilities in place to host three large shows at once (plus space in xfinity live) and shelter ready if the weather is bad. But I agree that they aren't terribly iconic.

Saying something does not make it true-but is often a reflection of oneself. How exactly am I being selfish? You're just throwing out the word to deflect from your own selfishness and nimbyism.

I was stating '2 years' in comparison to all of the news reports, and this thread, which went up well before the latest Made In America concert happened.

As for my people skills? I'm told that I'm great with people-it's just selfish filthpigs who sniff their own buttplugs out of smugness that I have a problem with.

I wasn't calling you anything. I was referring to what you said about me.

My only suggestion is to end the event earlier each night. I would rather not have to listen to Kanye while trying to put my young kids to bed. It was really loud.

Interestingly, and maybe because of all the complaints about Parkway events, the street closures are listed on the website -- at least everyone is forewarned:

    Friday, September 1st – Tuesday Sept 5th; Work hours: 8:00am – 10:00pm
Full closure of site at 10:00am
Full closure to run through Tuesday, September 5th at 5am
Inner and outer roadways of Ben Franklin Parkway from N. 20th Street to Art Museum
    N. 21 st Street from Pennsylvania Ave to Winter St.
    N. 22nd Street from Pennsylvania Ave to Park Towne Pl.
    N. 23rd Street from Pennsylvania Ave to Ben Franklin ParkwaY
Kelly Drive (inbound and outbound from N. 25th Street to Ben Franklin Parkway.

This might be what's on the website but in no way does this reflect reality. They are not going to build 3 stages in 1 day. They're not going to put all the temp electrical in for the stages in one day. And then you have the vendors, etc. They are going to have some of these roads closed for at least a week before to at least a week after. That's the way it's been every year.

Looks like Jay Z has finished MiA's transition into a near full-on hip-hop/rap festival.

Just for this year, it been a down year for most of the other pop music. Plus EDM was eventually going to headline this event as it has every other event.
