    J (aka Princess) - A34582510
    *updated photos

JJ was recently returned to us because her family felt she was not a good fit with their resident dogs and small children. Can you give her the second chance she deserves? Below is her original bio:

JJ (aka Princess; A34582510) is a great dog who would be a great fit for an active owner. She’s an energetic and playful girl with a million-dollar smile - just take a look at her photos! JJ is between 1-2 years old and 48 pounds, and she was brought in by the police as a stray. She seems housebroken but will likely need a refresher after being in the shelter. She already knows “sit” and would love to learn more commands because that means she gets more treats - her favorite! Treat yourself to a loveable, loyal companion and come meet JJ today!

    HUGGY A36572939

Hi there everyone! Huggy's the name, and snuggling is my game! I'm tired of being by myself all alone, so I'm actually pretty happy to be here in the shelter. There's lots of people to cuddle with - that's why they gave me my new name Huggy! I've never had a birthday party, but they say I'm between 1-2 years, so maybe you could throw me a belated one? I'm medium-sized (48 lbs), the perfect size to fit next to you on your couch, if I do say so myself! I like to play and go for walks too, and I love to say hello to everyone I meet! (I just think you humans are the best!) Do you think maybe I could stay at your place? Free daily hugs- I promise!

MUST *LEAVE* by 9/25. 8 pm
    *Sweet Senior!* BAMBINO - A36533792 - Rescue / Adopt w/ Medical Waiver

    Breed: Terrier mix.
    Intake: Found stray on 9/13.
    Age: 8 years.
    Weight: 54 lbs.
    Sex/Alter Status: Unaltered male.

Medical Observation: Some muscle loss over back. May benefit from senior blood work.

Behavior Observation: Shy in kennel, warms up outside.

Personality: This spunky senior is Bambino! He was found as a stray, and is looking to find a place to call his own. This pup came in microchipped, and we have tried our best to find his owner. We haven’t had any luck, but that's not bringing this fellow down. When we met him today, he was sound asleep on a nice comfy blanket. We called out to him, and her perked up and allowed us to leash him without incident. Bambino walked well on the leash, and remained close to his handlers as we made our way into the evaluation room. Bambino briefly explored his surroundings, and then turned his attention towards his handlers. He allowed full body handling, and would nudge our hands when we would stop petting him. Bambino them climbed onto our laps, and gave us kisses. This shelter is no place for a sweet senior like him, and we are hoping that a loving caretaker can provide the TLC this pup will need to thrive in a home! Will you be the one who gives Bambino the second chance he deserves?

LADY A36612902 White and Brown Pittie Mix

AVAILABLE @ ACCT 111 West Hunting Park Philadelphia 19140

My name is Lady! I am about 3 years old and I think I weigh about 60lbs. I landed at the ACCT because my previous family could no longer afford me. I used to live with children under 5 and older kids too. I also lived with other dogs! I miss having a big family:) The shelter makes me nervous so please go slow with me, I had a bath today and it was awesome, I wasn't scared at all! And it felt great in the hot weather:) I really just want to cuddle, I love hugs. My back Right leg bothers me, so it's a little hard to walk sometimes and I have a lot of scars on my head, but don't you worry! that doesn't stop me from climbing into your lap, giving you hugs and being absolutely adorable for the camera. I walk well on the leash and like people, my previous family says I am a good dog. I know the commands, "Sit, Stay and Eat". Please remember I'm just a little scared right now because the shelter is overwhelming. I am also playful and I like to be brushed too! I am seeking a new FUREVER Home! I have SO much LOVE to share! Come on down and meet me! You will be glad you did:)

EDITED: MUST LEAVE BY 10/8, 5PM

    CHAMP - A34380993 - Rescue / Adopt with. Waiver

    Breed: Terrier mix.

Intake: Owner Surrender on 9/23. (Not enough time). (Came in with Lady A34380953)

    Age: 1 - 2 years.

    Weight: 51 lbs.

    Sex/Alter Status: Altered male. Microchipped.

Behavior Observation: Very fearful inside, and outside of kennel. At risk of further declining.

Personality: Champ is a handsome brindle pup who was recently surrendered to the shelter because his owner no longer has the time to care for him. When we met Champ, he was very nervous in his kennel, but allowed us to leash him and lead him into the evaluation room without issues. Champ remained very nervous in the evaluation room, and began to shake uncontrollably. We gave him a few moments to settle down before offering him some treats, which he showed no interest in. We sat besides him, and allowed him to come to us when he was ready to interact. It took him several moments, but Champ was very brave and took a few steps towards us. After some sniffing, Champ calmed down a bit, and allowed us to gently pet him. Since he is so fearful, we did not want to push him any further. Per his previous owner, Champ is very affectionate, playful, and good with children! We believe all this guy needs is a special caretaker who can show him that the world is not as scary as it seems! If you are able to help Champ, please do not hesitate to reach out to Lifesaving!

    Champ and Lady: https://youtu.be/-iTblwvDIKw

Champ is one half of a fantastic brother and sister team! Champ (A34380993) is the dog wearing the blue collar. This gorgeous duo are very bonded-poor Champ is nervous without his sweet Lady (A34380953) nearby. They were surrendered to the shelter through no fault of their own. Their owner just didn't have enough time to take care of them anymore. But their loss can be your gain! These dogs are young and full of life and spirit! They are 1-2 years old, medium sized, and are both neutered/spayed and ready to go home today. They lived with kids of all ages and are reported to be house trained and crate trained. Champ is a beautiful boy who loosens up as soon as he gets outside in the run. He's an active and playful pup who loves to hang out with people and his sister. Please consider adopting this pair (or Champ) today. The shelter is full and we need your help to save lives.
