While our football team might've had its "Cinderella Season" last year, we're doing alright for ourselves.

We're currently 6-3, 4-1 in conference play with a tiebreaker on USF for the AAC lead. We started slowly (the down point of the year was losing the season opener to an improved Army squad), but we're in a serious groove now, stealing a game from UCF on the road, keeping the high-powered USF offense in check, and shutting Cincy out in the 2nd quarter to extend our all-time series lead on them. We're the team to beat in a very chaotic conference right now.

Temple's doing well but the attendance is way down from last year because of no Penn State and Notre Dame home (in theory) games. I hope they scrap the new Stadium on campus idea.

We beat UConn 21-0 on Friday!

Incidentally, we're 12-5 against them all-time! Winsipedia - Temple Owls vs. Connecticut Huskies football series history
The bad start didn't help, either. Losing against Army drove away a lot of casual fans that it'll take the rest of the season to make up for.

FWIW though, there is a fair point that the Linc is vastly oversized for Temple's needs. I've heard time-sharing Franklin Field bandied about, and that seems to be a better Plan B to me. I suspect Penn would be much more gracious hosts than the Eagles have ever been.

Maybe now they won't need that new stadium.

Hopefully the Eagles aren't still raking Temple over the coals for stadium usage fees.
