Was this song about the great economy in 1999? It might have been. Bill does have a very strong record on the economy.

Anyway, yes, adults were having a discussion and the mid-sixties economy came up. The post WWII economic growth period was one of the strongest in our history. Its OK if this is on the long list of things you know nothing about. But please don't deny the existence of history. History happened. And we have proof.

Post–World War II economic expansion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coincidentally, here are the tax rates for the past 100 years. Notice how high tax rates didn't stop the largest economic expansion in recent history? INEXPLICABLE!

The percentage of Americans that are actually working has stayed between 58 and 59 percent for 51 months in a row. But most Americans don’t understand these things and they just take whatever the mainstream media tells them as the truth.

That number includes children, the elderly, the retired, the handicapped, etc etc etc

It's a real number though. At least, that's the ballpark. But, um, I don't expect toddlers or the elderly to be punching the clock. May be you do.

Once Trump wins, you'll begin to quote this number to us.

The real unemployment rate is referred to as U-6.

The U-6 rate fell to 9.7 percent in April. The U-6 rate is defined as all unemployed as well as "persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the labor force." That means the unemployed, the underemployed and the discouraged.May 6, 2016

I am afraid of numbers since I look at the last great depression and They told you how great we were doing in the 1930's but the actual people felt like they lived in Crap.
Then 2008 we witnessed a terrible bank failure and I blame both parties for allowing the banks too much loan freedom. And then Obama steps in and Lowers rates to almost zero percent on our savings and retirement income streams and now these people that report economic stats tell you let's party like it's 1965.
AND the only people that use the BS Phrase 'create new jobs' are politicians.
LET the voters tell us if the MAJORITY are better off than before O ?

That's a function of the Federal Reserve, not the President. But you know that, I presume, since you fancy yourself as a sophisticated investor.

Yep, you heard it folks, incomes are on the rise. Unemployment is alos down, below 5%, to 4.9%. Economy has added enough jobs, that now demand is picking up for employees, leading to rising wages.

I absolutely know what comment is coming next. Unemployment is down, because we aren't counting out of work people. True, but according to 538, we have been steadily increasing the participation in the labor force all through Obama's pres since the great recession bottomed out.

The solution clearly is to hand the keys to Jamie Dimon.

The numbers are still what they are.

It was the same at the end of the Clinton presidency. Jobs up, pay up, inequality down.

I'm sure the pussy grabber will do an amazing job bankrupting the US.

Just don't leave him alone in a room with your wife or daughter.

Here's why President Obama is unlikely to pardon Hillary Clinton
    .
WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton will not get a pardon from President Obama.

If Obama is to be kept to his word, neither will former CIA director David Petraeus, convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, intelligence contractor Edward Snowden or Pvt. Chelsea Manning, all of whom were accused or convicted of mishandling classified information.

The reason is simple: None of them has applied to the Office of the Pardon Attorney for executive clemency.

Obama addressed “last-minute” presidential pardons at a news conference in August. “The process that I put in place is not going to vary depending on how close I get to the election,” he said in response to a question from USA TODAY. “So it's going to be reviewed by the pardon attorney, it will be reviewed by my White House counsel, and I'm going to, as best as I can, make these decisions based on the merits, as opposed to political considerations.”

MORE OBAMA BS Mussels are an endangered species!

    Save the mussels :p

    USFWS: America's Mussels

    SAVE THE MUSSELS :p

Passage and implementation of the Endangered Species Act and the Clean Water Act has contributed to the recovery of some species. The Endangered Species Act provides protection of existing mussel communities containing threatened and endangered species and has promoted efforts to recover endangered mussels. Enforcement of the Clean Water Act has resulted in improved water quality which has allowed recolonization of mussels and fish in some areas.

Trump outdid Obama at the starting gate:
    TRUMPONOMICS:
U.S. economy adds a strong 227,000 jobs in January
America added 227,000 jobs in January, well ahead of December's gain of 157,000 jobs.
The unemployment rate ticked up a bit to 4.8%. More Americans started looking for work again -- a good sign -- which explains the small increase in unemployment.

I just have to point out that the economy has not changed at all since Obama left office, but we are seeing all sorts of glowing reviews in place of the articles wondering when we would ever return to normal growth.

    # of jobs created in Obamas last 5 months : 908,000
    # of jobs created in Trumps first five months : 863,000

    Unemployment during Obama's last month : 4.8%
Unemployment after five moths of trump 4.4%

Here's what the trendline on unemployment looks like, there is no change in trend: LNS14000000_1494340_1502805290198.gif

Here is a graph showing the monthly trend in employment over time. Capture.JPG

I think its very odd that the leftist, mainstream, liberal media is changing its tune so rapidly to describe the same thing in different ways. Almost like their political leaning is being exaggerated for some reason.
