I just received an announcement that I am a recipient of the 5 Star Professional Award as a Real Estate Broker. Anyone know what this award is and how legitimate (or pathetic) is it?
Anyone received this award? Did you embrace it or discard it??

I am scratching my head as to how I was even selected based on their "10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria associated with outstanding work". I'm reading their "rigorous research process" and even I would not name myself for this award.
It looks to be a SCAM but I'm hearing professionals in other wealth businesses are embracing it and basically adding this award on their resume, websites or LinkedIn accounts.

I found this Forbes website stating:
"Five Star Professional employed a rigorous research process to identify the Five Star Wealth Manager award winners in cities across the U.S. Award-winning professionals were carefully selected from among thousands of wealth managers for their knowledge, service and experience".

This is the 5 Star Professional website.
    About:
Five Star Professional conducts market research to define and promote professional excellence in the professions we serve. The Five Star designation assists consumers in selecting a service professional that other consumers say provides exceptional client satisfaction and service.

Five Star Professional joins forces with city and regional magazines to publish our research to consumers and promote Five Star-designated professionals in more than 45 markets across the United States.

Five Star Professional was founded in 2003 and is based in Eagan, Minnesota.

    Is this a SCAM award???
