The giant that toppled the Fishtown/Nolibs/Kensington/Port Richmond section of philadelphiaspeaks.com is down! Is it a minor setback, or has the juggernaut fallen? Will the people return to PS, or will they fade into darkness.....the mystery unravels.....

More likely, as with the Northern Liberties site, has migrated to Facebook.

See, that's what happens after someone has a fundraiser and gets all this money donated to offset hosting and server cost.

FTUS was just a lame clique, same people responding to the same people all the time. I was on that site from the get-go, never really liked it that much.

To be clear, every bit of the money raised was used to pay for hosting costs, and the site continued on several months past when fundraiser money ran out. I paid literally thousands of dollars over the years out of my own pocket to support the website and resent any suggestion - however vague - that the money was ever used for any purpose other than that what it was raised for.

That said, I agree with a lot of your criticisms of what the site became. However, that was not its reality throughout its existence - especially it's golden days during the first and second bursts of gentrification.
