it was an Aussie company, mate. Would you like a crock-skin boot to wear as you walk down to your bank with the bad check?!
in all seriousness, i do hope the companies and people involved in this mess pay up. Bollywood is only now starting to make a name for itself outside of South Asia/Middle East/Africa/Eastern Europe/SE Asia...wouldn't want that name to be bad name. And the good folks in Philly need the money now...not a month or two later....
Not great for the actors, but awesome an Indian company is filming in Philly. So mixed news there. Did anyone see Slumdog Millionare? I saw it last night, very good, not fantastic, but very good.
I think HIG can speak with the voice of authority on this but my understanding that 'Movie' pay can often run in to delays and/or issues on amounts, but I can see why some folks would get extra nervous if it was not only an outta state company but also an outta the continent company. Once the Aussies convert their Kangaroo Bucks into Yankee Dollars I'm sure it will work it self out. At least they didn't get paid in trampled second rate taffy.
I saw Slumdog and I also thought it was very good and not great. The gameshow aspect of the movie was a little far fetched but the back story about the children growing up was excellent.
