At 13th and Chestnut in the old I. Goldberg location.

    Very unfortunate.

The one coming on Market and 12 looks like it will be open soon as well. I wonder when the 7-11s will start closing, as it doesn't seem like they could begin to compete on many levels.

At least one has already. A sparkling new Wawa opened at 22nd & South in April. The long-standing 7-11, one short block away at 22nd & Lombard, was boarded up by the end of August.

Yet at 20th & Locust the 7-11 replaced the Wawa - same at 17th & Franklintown Blvd and at 2nd & Christian. They just like to trade places.

When you say trade places, that particular location, in the Dorchester, is even more interesting. In the 80s it was a 7-11, then it became a Wawa for many years, then, when Wawa retrenched from CC several years back, it again became a 7-11.

Didn't there used to be a WaWa at 11th and Arch? Overhead that would've been a diagonal connect four; Broad & Walnut, 13th & Chestnut, 12th & Market, 11th and Arch.
