I searched La Colonia Italiana di Filadelfia not much in photos...then switched from web to image search and Bang. There is a photo of Bianca di Italia 727 S 7th St. as one structure. Photo you said you had lost! Page format although. Nice to View. Now 727-729 S 7th St.

Imo, I think the original design with sixteen 3,000 pounds each zinc eagles made in Germany crowning the four outer pavilions made for something unique in American design. Can't find anything regarding removal of eagles in terms of the why or dates. Seeing these old photos and what is left looks a bit flat or deflated to me.
