I wondered if anyone out there knows the story behind the sizeable home at 5714 Wissahickon, at the end of Stafford Street, which is owned by the Alden Park owners? It's a large, schist house similar to any number of houses one might find on some streets in the Northwest, but I have always wondered why it's allowed to sit forlorn and isn't sold off and/or restored.

It was part of the sale of Alden apartments, but it is not part of the complex now. It's privately owned by one of the owners of Alden. It's in rough shape as you can see. I looked into doing something there, but with the extensive work needed and no parking, it didn't work.

Would make an interesting restaurant/brewpub type place (think forest and main)
