    Default No Solicitation Philly Sign

I have seen signs in various places that instruct people not to leave the circulars, menus, etc at a house that were specific to Philadelphia and seemed to be printed by an official group. I looked around online but didn't find anything. Anyone have an idea of where I might be able to get one of these?

You need to call 311 I think for them to mail it to you.

Also, I think it is called a no circulation sticker. I have one on my door, it does work. I got mine at a civic meeting.

    The form is here:

ETA: Going by nothing but anecdotal evidence, people seem to get the sticker faster by faxing the form in.

I wish the city could fine the douchebag businesses that put those junk, plastic signs all over the telephone poles. Buzz Plumbing, A-1 Roofing, "We Buy Houses," etc. I used to be able to pluck them down, but in the past year they've been putting them up too high to reach. I may have to resort to dirty tactics to get them removed.

I've been meaning to do this for years. I come home to a circular almost every day; you'd think that would have been enough motivation. Just faxed my form in!

Great post, thanks! If you still get brochures/menus/flyers after this, I would recommend dumping a bunch of papers (including their own) on the floor of the offending business, with a note to state the reason why.

I keep my recycling bucket on my front porch. I just toss them in there.

There is a hot-line you can call and report the offending business, they will then be fined by the city.

Ahh yes. Plastic graffiti. Those signs are illegal. Just pull them down. I use a garden claw, works great.

The Instructions I recieved (in 2005-6) indicated that I should mail offending menus/flyers/etc to a city PO box. I did so just a few times early on and gradually the offenders stopped all together.

The sticker on MY front door doesn't work...
    It's written in ENGLISH.

But so are the takeout menus you still get, illegally. Aren't they?

Um, yes, those menu's are printed in English too..

But.... the asswipes that stick them in the doors are foreign-speaking goofbags.

So WHAT good are warning signs, printed in English?

Its the businesses the pay for them to be put there that are responsible for them being put there. They don't ignore the sign because they are "foreign-speaking goofbags". They ignore the sign because thats what the restaurants that pay them tell them to do.

    1. I bet the folks delivering can read the signs just fine

    2. You don't need to read english to recognize the logo on the sticker, but if the guy paying you tells you to ignore the sticker, you ignore the sticker.

It has nothing to do with English-speaking competance. Its that the people paying them want them to break the law.

Hint, hint. Mr. NE 19149. Probably clogging up their delivery order phone line to complain about the flyers repeatedly will help them to feel uh "incentivized" to ask their distribution people to pay attention to the sticker also. Remember *70 I think blocks caller ID.

Multiple fax delivery points is useful, since most take-out places take fax orders too - i.e. CC-ing them every time you fax in a complaint to the city.

You could also start "wall of shame" internet site or just a thread here to encourage folks to boycott take-out places that ignore the sticker.
