Samuel Powel Elementary Home and School Association invites prospective parents and caregivers of children enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 School Year to attend A Kindergarten Tea, October 16th at 8:30 am. Meet the Principal, learn the top 10 reasons to attend Powel, tour the school and learn about the admissions process.

Powel School is a small, diverse, K-4 Philadelphia Public School located at 36th & Powelton Avenue that met AYP in 2011-2012. Powel benefits from a strong partnership with Drexel University, active Home and School Association, Playworks Recess Coach and excellent Principal, teachers and staff. Powel is a Children's Literacy Initiative Model School, receives support from The Math Forum at Drexel University and welcomes WePAC into our Library.

In addition to strong academics, Powel offers many teacher led afterschool programs including chess, drama club, track, yearbook and others. Afterschool dance classes are available at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center and University City Arts Leauge provides afterschool art classes at Powel. Pick up at many local daycare centers is also available.
