Dear Home InspectorBC, if you are one of the handfuls of companies responsible for trashing half of Philadelphia with those unsightly yellow "WE BUY HOMES" signs in the last two weeks, please, for the love of god, stop. They are trashing our neighborhoods. Use your money more creatively and buy a billboard or a half page in the Inquirer if you want to advertise. Thos signs are disgusting.

and I would encourage every West Philly resident to spend an hour a month cutting these down around the neighborhood

keep your blight off our public property paid for via tax dollars of actual residents

You can bet money that if they are within my travels, they are taken down. And I am not alone in doing so. And that doesn't even include the ones that just come down on their own and wind up in the trash. They are a disgrace.

    Dear the wza,

We dont trash philly neighborhoods we beautify them so can't help you with the yellow signs as I don't know who they belong to, why don't you call the number and ask them to take them down as we get our properties through REO's and work of mouth hence the post on this site instead of putting up unsightly signs all over the neighborhood. We also do not perform crappy buy and flip, fly by night overall lousy unsafe houses for resale or rent that seem to be flooding the market but provide high end sustainable housing designed to be energy efficiency as well as a jewel on the block.

That's just about the longest run-on sentence I've seen in several years.

So back to the purpose of the thread. Anyone have any vacant lots or shells on their block that they'd like to see developed?

Thanks for the response. I genuinely hope you mean it and I hope to see some evidence of the beautifying in the months and years to come.
I have a friend that calls the numbers and asks them to stop, his wife takes the signs down, and so do I.
What I find most comical is that on some of the blocks you can actually find other signs advertising homes for sale.

I can think of well over 20 houses within a 3 block radius that come to mind, but who knows what the owners are waiting for. Many of them are corner houses; take a drive down 53rd between Baltimore and Pine, won't be hard to see which ones I'm talking about.

Ha! There's a fresh batch of the yellow signs lining 49th street starting at chestnut heading south from there.

None on 49th yet, but I plan on recycling them if they show up.

The South side of 51st and Pentridge could use a new owner.
