Looking for places to Volunteer on Christmas/X-mas Eve

Hi all, I've lurked here a bit but never posted, but was hoping someone might help with me with this. I know it's a little late to be contemplating, but it's only at the last minute that I've discovered I'll be alone in Philly for the holidays (relationship troubles, sigh).

I live in Center City, and I figured it would be easy to Google "volunteer Philadelphia Christmas" and find some way to contribute, but unless I'm missing something entirely obvious (quite possible), not much is coming up.

So, I was wondering if anyone had local suggestions or contact info. I'm roughly in the Market East/Gayborhood area; any soup kitchens, shelters, homeless organizations, LGBT activist groups, etc. where I might be of use? Thanks!

Good for you for wanting to volunteer.

Something for everyone to keep in mind, most places get over run with volunteers on days like Thanksgiving, Xmas Eve, & Xmas, but they need and many are short of volunteers all yr round... instead of giving your time for one day, if you can give one or two days a month on a regular basis (something and someone they can really count on long term), it will mean a lot more.
