Tens of thousands of members of OUR community are infected or directly affected by HIV/AIDS. Just in North and West Philadelphia we suffer from having twice the infection rate for HIV/AIDS compared to any other part of Pennsylvania.
African American and Latina women; our mothers, sisters and daughters are the hardest hit. AIDS continues to be the number one killer for women between the ages of 24 to 35 in the African American and Latina communities. Please stand with us and them to make proven prevention, education, outreach, counseling and testing continue and expand.
The best way to stop HIV from spreading is to not get it. We can do that with testing and counseling. But we need public dollars to continue to make this happen. All we are asking for is as little as .00275 of the state budget or less than 1/4 of 1% of our total state spending.
With your help outreach and education can be provided to more than 3,000 people a year.
Sign the Petition and if you want to do MORE, Call Senator Vincent Hughes: 717-787-7112 and simply state you want Sen Hughes to support and fund “Campaign for 3,000 in North and West Philly” a prevention, outreach, testing and counseling effort in North, West and Center City Philadelphia.
