Default Store like Micro Center in the city?

    Hi all.

Is there a store like Micro Center in the city? For those unfamiliar, Micro Center has wider variety of computer parts than places like Best Buy or Staples, and is geared more towards professionals or computer hobbyists/DIY people. I'm looking for a large external drive for backups, and places like Staples only carry smaller (and slower) drives geared towards the consumer market.

Micro Center is great...but is in St. David's. Anything similar in town or close?

    Thanks!

If you can't find anything, MicroCenter is a five minute walk of the Radnor or St. Davids Paoli/Thorndale Line stations... Unfortunately, I'm not really sure of any places you could go though in the city. Other option: just order from NewEgg. They often ship out of Edison, NJ, and deliver next day even with basic shipping. I've only ever had great experiences with them.

I have had fanstastic experiences with my DIY computer building purchases from NewEgg as well. They have the best online review system of any e-retailer, too.

Springboard for buying cheapest possible parts to build a giant Linux-based home media server (in my example) would have been useless. As a bit of a DIY HTPC / XBMC geek (though usually a Mac guy on "work" computers) there are many things I would not go to Springboard for.

But I think they might have a high-end external hard drive like what Naveen is looking for. Or maybe not. Obviously it's not the place to go to buy parts to build a PC. I would personally buy the drive NewEgg too, it's the cheapest and they have free 3-day shipping, which often comes in 2 days because they ship many items from New Jersey.

Thanks guys. I've used NewEgg in the past and always been satisfied. Didn't realize they ship from Edison though. That will make it fast. Thanks!
