Default Apple OS X Mountain Lion

The Mountain Lion update to the popular OS X operating system for Apple is available for download/install from the App store. I just finished my install and am reviewing various sites for tips, tricks, hacks and how-tos. Anyone have anything to add here?

I'm still running Snow Leopard. My Mac is capable of running Mountain Lion, but is there anything particularly compelling for a non-power user? Is Mountain Lion compatible with Photoshop 5?

Yeah, Adobe is working on making Creative Suite 5-6 compatible right now...so I'm not updating until they say so.....

But I'm on Lion now before they took it down and its going well..I might not get Mountain Lion until next year before they take it down and replace it with something I can't upgrade to..lol

This is a pretty interesting change: Mountain Lion’s New File System | Information Architects

Can't wait to get my hands on it but also the adobe cs issue before I upgrade.

I'm running cs5 without any problem. At leas illustrator and photoshop... haven't tried dreamweaver yet.

Safari is fast as hell. The notifications are pretty cool. A lot of things seems to work better.

My mac mini is too old for Lion (and hence Mountain Lion), but from everything I'm reading, this is the software upgrade that will finally get me to upgrade my hardware (plus, I really do want full iCloud functionaility).

Good to know. I just don't like playing testing monkey for Adobe. But I do want that full screen mode.

I got new computers because of 10.7 and icloud. It's pretty smooth, but I really don't get some of the features. I can't figure out if my music gets counted for the cloud or not. I also would like all of my files to be accessible from 'the cloud' like I did with idisk, but can't figure out if I can do it or not.

i've still got snow kitty but am eligible for a free upgrade... i just don't see why. safari has always been problematic so i have just taken to using firefox. if it ain't broke don't fix it. In a year when i'm due for another computer i'll deal with it then. Meanwhile snow kitty is purring along.

I'm with Gladys: I'm glad we didn't waste our money on a 10.7 upgrade.

It'll be a while before I shell out any for 10.8 either, for an additional reason: I feel that Apple is slowly trying to turn my desktop into a mobile device. I hate this. Apple has always dictated to an insane degree how you use your device, what you put on it, and when you replace it, but with Lion, they really took this to another level. The Mac is slowly becoming like some Minitel machine from France in the 80's, just a terminal that allows you to communicate with—and most importantly, buy junk from—Apple Computer as opposed to the French phone company.

Default Does this impact iPad O/S?

Does this or any Apple desktop S/W have spin-off improvements to my iPad One? Should I be looking for iPad updates or is that automatic? i.e. Safari etc.

The iPad updates don't come out till the Fall with iOS6, this will sync it to much of Mountain Lion's new feature even better then they already are..
