I can no longer get YouTube on my laptop. Can someone suggest some things I may try to reactivate it? I feel like I'm missing out on a large chunk of our culture (and I am left behind in many of the water-cooler chats at work). Thanks in advance.

What do you mean, you no longer get it? Do you get some sort of error when you try going to the site?

Assuming you're on a Windows PC go to:
Start -> Run -> CMD
In the console type "ping youtube.com". Does it return an IP address? Does it get a ping response?
Also, just restart your computer. On occasion I cannot get to Google but a restart fixes it. I believe it's DNS vodoo where the cache gets messed up or something.
Thanks Gren, but....
Dang I'm a bit embarassed. Where do I find the START menu? I'm using Windows Vista and haven't ever had to use START since I got it, so I'm not sure where to find it.
And to answer Guzzijason, what I mean when I say I don't get You Tube is simply that it no longer responds. When I click on a You Tube entry nothing happens, and the You Tube icon is gone from my desktop and programs menu. Vanished.
It's just the button at the bottom left of the screen with the Windows logo. On Vista you can click it and type "cmd" and the command line will open up. Then you can type "ping youtube.com" and see the results. But, I'm not sure what I said will help solve your problem although it might help diagnose it.
When I type youtube.com in my browser bar, nothing happens. Nothing. It just stays on the page I was on previously. When you say "update a plug-in" how would I do that, exactly?
PS I pinged it, nothing happened.
I wouldn't expect an answer from Alexa as she appears to be a spammer.
There isn't any new plug-in that's needed. One of my computers is 10 years old, and I just went to you tube with zero problem. Just type www.youtube.com. Or just click link. When you get there, bookmark it for future access.
You mean smacked-ass videos. Your website is lame.
