    Default Reconditioned Apple.com products

Is there good data on experiences with reconditioned units from the Apple.com on-line store? I'm optimistic that their history is good, as is their warranty.

My past experience from the, Philco, GE & RCA employee stores was that the reconditioned and scratched electronics were exceptional, having been tested twice, with a little burn-in time.

The difference between a Reconditioned vs new iPad 1, is $30 for an extra 16Gb. Again, a darn good offering.

Philco! Now there is a name I haven't dealt with since I worked at the Philco plant at C and Tioga back in the early 70s. As for reconditioned Apple products, I tend to be okay with them, also never had any problem with Sony reconditioned products.

I've gotten 3 laptops and an ipod through the apple.com refurbished site. All of them worked great. Still comes with a warranty and everything just like a new one. They look new.

Can't speak to the iPad but I have been using a reconditioned MacBook Pro for over three years and I am very happy with it. It has needed a few repairs but nothing out of the ordinary for this model and especially given the heavy usage it gets.

I always go the reconditioned route if they have what I want. Saves a few dollars, same warranty and so far no problems. That includes a MacBook Pro from 2006 still in everyday use.

If you going to get an iPad 1.0 better hurry up as Apple won't have them for long....Butthe only real difference between the new and these is they don't come in an Apple box.

Got mine for 399 in an apple box. I'm happy with it. Some of the stores do have them- just not on display. I'm using it for testing right now. I will eventually need the camera for my apps, but I'm doing that testing on my phone.
