RIP Officer Fox. I'm 85% positive I met him last year when I was running in a park by Germantown and Walton. Some guy kept walking into Walton trying to sell bottles of water to moving cars. The officer asked me a question about the guy (can't remember exactly what it was) but he seemed very professional and respectful. When the officer did confront the gentleman, he didn't talk down to the guy or throw his weight around. Again, it may not have been the same guy, but in my brain the faces match up. RIP no matter what.

Dude...that's a pretty terrible thing to say. Chewing gum is not necessarily appropriate, but maybe she was doing it as stress relief to keep from breaking down.

I'm impressed that both the governor and the mayor were there. I liked the mayor's quote about how police from the burbs have been there for Philly when Philly's had it's tragedies, so he felt he needed to be there for the burbs this time. The attitude of 'We've got to stick together because we're all in this together" I think is a good message. Left unaddressed is what the bad guy was doing before the chain reaction was set off. If he went to Norristown to buy drugs then a way to prevent a re-occurrence of this tragedy is to deal with that sore point.
