Comcast Internet and Wireless Alarm problems since the great flood?

We live on a block close to the water main break that wasn't physically impacted. I was away until the day after the break, and found that my Comcast internet had stopped working. I've localized the problem as a Comcast issue (ie: router and modem are otherwise working normally.) This morning, our wireless alarm system began making some strange signals that the alarm company said indicates distress (ie: my alarm is having issues without actually communicating a break-in or fire.) Has anyone else experienced issues such as these?'

We do not have a land line...I saw there were Verizon problems in the neighborhood but we do not use Verizon for anything.

Anyone have similar issues, or is the house just going haywire?

We're one block away from ground zero, and we didn't encounter any service interruption from Comcast (or anything else other than water).

[addendum: The mess of PECO and Comcast trucks that were out in the street the day before yesterday for the rerouting of everything away from 21st might have something to do with it. I would think that would affect us first, since they were right in front of our place, but who knows?]

It's frightening how depended we've become on the Internet!
Hopefully, Comcast will get it fixed tonight when they come by...the alarm, I still can't figure out.

Very likely they damaged some comcast facilities as well, when they set to work on the hole in earnest after PECO finished rerouting and deactivating electric in the hole. According to an Inquirer article PWD damaged 2 Verizon cables Wednesday while excavating and some of 1000 phone customers out of service may be down till the weekend. I saw one of the Vz cables in the hole and it was severed and shredded.

I appreciate the feedback. Turns out I was inadvertently disconnected by Comcast in the course of trying to disconnect someone else on the block. I've been reconnected. However, the alarm is strange...they are coming out Monday.
