Believe what you want. As a commercial property owner in the neighborhood who might have some further insight into the matter but is not necessarily at liberty to say more...things are often more complex than what the public sees or hears.
Sure, I have no doubt there may have been various considerations at play. But whether the owners of Tria decided against that location for strictly NIMBY reasons or not, the NIMBY-factor was there. Big time.
Hopefully though, especially since the recent overwhelming show of support for the Sidecar expansion, potential new business owners in the area will feel welcome, and understand that not every corner is like that particular one.
Don't tempt me, sonny. All right, everybody calm down, please, okay? (EDIT: "Everybody" in this case would be OutOfContext and Tomata, I think.)
I apologized already, LB - but I really don't think sticking up for another poster, hood or business in the neighborhood is a dumpable offense - I'm a little bummed out by this.

I think everyone is fine now: the little fish, jesus, and kittens are all calm.
There's a jerk in every crowd. Perhaps someone was cut off one night...
Yeah I wouldn't pay too much heed to random negative comments. Especially one like that, which doesn't offer any specifics. Also looks like it was written by a 12-year-old.
That menu looks really interesting! I'll definitely want to check it out based on that, though I am not a beer drinker so hopefully there will be some other interesting drink choices.
Hooray. Can't wait for a nice third spot I'd go to around there to justify a Friday evening out. (Friends grumble when the crowd at Ten Stone and Grace is thin...to have to go all the way back to Fishtown...)

The Yello'Bar awnings came down yesterday morning, and the wall in front of the restaurant got a nice green coat of paint and a few small planters. I can almost smell the twice-fried chicken now...
New awnings are up! Caught a peek inside on Friday -- it's looking great. My only concern is that the place will become popular with foodies all over the city, and they'll take up my parking
Hi Neighbors!
I thought I'd chime in, so you know... WE'RE still on track for our original proposed opening date (it's been a personal point of pride, this quick renovation job of ours, we really did pull it off!)... However, the transfer of the liquor license is a little behind our crazy pace. We've backed everything up a week, to a tentative opening on the 16th, in order to buy time for the completion of the transfer, but really, it's just a waiting game at this point. Everything is moving as quickly as it can, we are told. In the mean time, we made the website live (Ressurection Ale House, Philadelphia.) and if you haven't already, get yourselves on our mailing list and we'll send out an invite to the big opening night bash. (Whenever it might occur!)
Looking forward to meeting you all soon!
