Default Private bar/room for 30th birthday party!

    Good morning!

I am hoping for some recommendations for a bar in the area that would accomodate up to 75 people for a surprise 30th bday party. If we could bring our own food, that would be a great plus, but not a necessity. Was looking into xfinity live as a venue in their VIP area but it doesnt seem that they can accomodate 75 people. Any other suggestions would be welcome!

    Thanks!

75 people is pretty massive, is that who will show up or will that be how many invites you're sending? If it's invites, it'd be a smaller group than that and you could probably find many more places that would accommodate 50 or so.

    Thanks!

Chick's (7th and Bainbridge) has an upstairs room that is very nice. I think they fit sixty.

I can't imagine there are too many places that will allow you to bring their own food.

The upstairs lounge at Finn McCools, 12 and sansom. excellent cheesesteak spring rolls. we have done private happy hour parties there a lot. it does turn into a dj sorta lounge at 9, so other people would be coming up.

I just threw my husband's 30th at Barcade up in Northern Liberties which was pretty cool. They let us bring our own cake.

Square Peg at 10th and Walnut might be able to accommodate that kind of group upstairs. Not sure what your budget is though. I went to a birthday party there that was pretty cool. They did some bar bites and an open bar for two hours, then it was cash bar.

Yeah - I agree, I'm not sure there are many places that would let you bring your own food.

I've always thought the Magic Gardens would be an awesome venue to plan a party. And, you can bring in your own food (and booze).

Most of the mummers clubhouses have a hall. The South Philly Vikings actually have two, one upstairs and the Victorian Room downstairs. I think you can probably bring your own food, but I'm not sure. Easy parking can be arranged with Goretti's lot being right there. Check out the Victorian Room.

Fireside Tavern, 6th/Oregon. They have an upstairs banquet room. Can bring your own food. 215-271-7650. Ask for Mike or Dawn.

I want to reiterate the Mummers Museum if you are still looking in south Philly for a party space for 75+.

My wife threw me a surprise party at North Bowl and it was so fun. The upstairs has 6 private lanes for the party space. They let her bring a cake and their food was great but not like a sit-down dinner; tots, sliders, etc.
