Default Does anybody know this cat?

Long hair, orage, bushy tail, white hair coming out of ears. I have seen this cat twice in the vicinity of 4th and Wharton. It is VERY friendly, but does not have a collar. It must be a pet based on its appearance, but I don't know if it is lost or not. The 1st time I saw it the cat came up to me immediately and started rubbing against my legs then walked away. The 2nd time I had my dog with me who was going insane so I couldn't get near it. I am trying to figure out if I should take it home next time I see it (without the dog) and attempt to find the owner. Seems unlikely that somebody would allow this beautiful cat out without a collar on purpose. Is anybody missing this cat or know somebody who is?

UPDATE: This cat is now in my house. Unfortunately, it can't stay for long because it is in the only bathroom I have so the dog doesn't attack it. Please let me know if anybody has any information. If I can't find somebody who owns it or wants to take it I will probably take if to the Morris Animal Refuge.

Good for you for taking care of the kitty especially when you have a dog that is an issue.

Please don't take it to Morris. If you must, try ACCT. 111 Hunting Park. I know people there that will examine, give health care and if the owner is hunting for kitty they will look there. The shelters is always pretty full this summer but if the cat is as friendly as you say they will have a shot. Also maybe they are micro chipped, if so they can tell and call the owner. If you can post a pic it would help.

I ran into this cat late night on Earp between 3rd and 4th . He did the same thing, rubbing up against my legs to the point that I couldn't walk. He walked me home to and I gave him a can of tuna. I was going to take him in but my dog wouldn't have it. He seemed to be a pet but I didn't find anything on Craigslist and I haven't seen any signs around. Now that you have him, we'll see if the signs show up.

Thanks Gladys. I think ACCT is what I meant. I took a stray dog there once. This may be a dumb question, but I am not that familiar with this forum yet and I couldn't figure out how to post a picture. Help?

When you're composing a reply to this thread, there's a little square icon in the toolbar for "Insert Image."

When I click on the "insert image" icon it gives me ONLY the option for a URL. Sorry!

Upload your photo to a free hosting site such as Imageshack (www.imageshack.us). You will get a url to link the image so it will display here.

No microchip, girl, about 2 years old. Nobody seems to be looking for her at the vet offices, pet stores... Holding out hope. We would love to keep her, but not sure if we can make it work with the dog.

    What a pretty cat.

Maybe get with the neighborhood associations and see if they can put it out on their email list? The people that read/source those things usually know all the ins and outs of the neighborhood.
