Smile Valet Parking on East Passyunk Ave.

PARC has been working with Councilman Squilla's office to establish two valet stations on EPA.

One stand will be located on the 1600 block of EPA in front of El Zarape (intersection of EPA, Morris & S. 12th St.) and the second stand will be located at the fountain across from the hardware store. PARC is providing funding for the permits necessary to operate the valet stands and the restaurants are funding the valet service.

The stands will operate on Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 5 PM to 2 AM.

Given the constant stream of restaurant openings, PARC has responded to community concerns as more restaurants open and parking becomes an increasingly critical issue for those who live close to EPA.

it is anticipate that 10 restaurants on this end of the Avenue will participate. And as new restaurants open (Scarduzzio at 12th & Morris for example) they will be strongly encouraged to participate. Validated valet parking rate will be $8 and non-validated parking will be $15. The cars will be stored at Neumann Goretti's parking lot.

This plan should address neighborhood concerns regarding parking and increase business for the restuarants. Which will lead to more foot trafiic on the Ave. which will support the retailers who maintain business hours later into the evening and encourage those that don't to do so.

The goal is to have the stands operational by the 1st weekend after Labor Day.

    We are trying!

    Thanks.

Wow, interesting idea for a CDC. Curious how much of an impact this will have on business.
