Heard them too, two sets. Not sure what they were, but I don't think they were fireworks. I am at 22nd and Washington.

And if they were gunshots I hope they hit one of the scumbag drug dealers that hang out in that area. That is the one thing that pisses me off about these thugs, they cannot hit their target!

You think they always call the cops? Let me ask you something: if two thugs shoot each other in the ghetto, and nobody else is around to see it, did it really happen???

Think about it man, its like, totally deep.

I heard gunshots as well down here when I was around 12th & Federal. It was definitely gunshots because afterward there was a ****load of police/ambulance activity in the area. Unreal.

I blame this on, um, Hitler and Stalin and, um, Sandusky and, um, the roof decks.

No kidding about the bad aim. I'd like to see that map redone for Point Breeze with ALL shootings, not just murders. It'd be INSANE. Oh, and also, how about how many shootings resulted in an arrest?

Did this all happen east of Broad? As in, a separate incident from what may or may not have occurred around 21st & Federal?

I believe it was. The sirens were way too loud to be coming from that far away and the response was literally 2 minutes after I heard the last 2 shots in quick succession. I gotta hand it to PPD on the response on that.

Heard it too. Didn't count but sure was a lot of noise / many bangs. Just saw this was posted on Everyblock:

Shooting at 23rd & Dickinson last night | EveryBlock Philadelphia

"was awoken by a barrage of gunfire approx. 1am last night. saw cops escorting a hobbling shot man to their car, 3 young men taken for questioning. 2200 block of Dickinson. Possible drive by gang-related. why not in the news? half the block of Dickinson was taped off, cop cars all over the block, walking around looking for guns, bullets, drugs? This is the 2nd major shooting on that corner within a few months that wasn't reported to the local news."

I actually called in what I thought were gunshots a little after 10:30pm last night. They sounded a little far off from where I am (22nd and Catherine area), but they were kind of like "pop"....."pop"....."pop"....."pop pop pop". Didn't sound like fireworks. ...and not sure what came of it.

Those shootings are rarely in the news unless someone is killed - it will be in the South Philly Whatever-it-is next week. It will say nothing about suspects, motive or leads. The only thing that makes this one different is that the police were escorting the dude that was shot. Usually, the "victim" is taken to the ER in a "private vehicle."

I heard that too from around where you are. The odd thing is, I heard nearly the exact same progression of pops with 3 at the end the night before at about the same time. No idea what that means, seems like an odd coincidence of shot successions and timing for gunfire... then again I'm far from an expert and the papers coverage suggests there is gunfire every few hours. Maybe not much of a stretch after all.

Gunshots are usually lower in pitch than firecrackers.

The noise you heard at around 11 last night was fireworks (not gunshots) and they came from 22nd & Manton. It was right behind my house & heard kids laughing while they were going off.
