Purple front doors

Since the first of the month, about half a dozen houses on my block, and a similar number on each surrounding block, have redone their front doors in this rather fetching shade of purple. Since I don't remember the last time I saw two painted doors at once, much less six, or twenty, and I don't believe in coincidence, I presume that one of the larger landlords in the neighborhood has decided to do some visual branding. My questions are: 1) which one? (my first two guesses are Universal and PHA, in that order), 2) why? and 3) why now?

Where in South Philly are you? I see a lot of doors painted purple or pinkish colors... a lot of them tend to be asian tenants from what I see, but if these are all the same color and were done the same time, it may be something along what you are saying....

Whoops, that would have been good to mention. Far northern Newbold/Point Breeze. And it's the exact same shade.

Universal, the one man has been painting them for two weeks or so. Cant be PHA because its only one guy painting. If it was PHA it would take five men at least a year to finish

you're kidding, right? The PHA house on my block gets fully renovated every couple of years. gotta keep up with the Joneses, even if you make the Joneses pay for it, dontchaknow.
