My brain stopped working a few weeks ago so let me know if I'm wrong.

Denise was trying to stop the coffee shop with her appeal.

Now that she dropped her appeal, nothing is standing in the way of the coffee shop opening.

Theresa "Salsa Queen" McCormick's appeal was allowed to move forward...so the Point Breeze/Titan project is still in a holding pattern.

Actually none of the appeals have been dropped.

The zoning appeal is still ongoing for Titan Street, Denise's pauper motion was thrown out by the judge. If she pays the court costs or refiled her IFP showing that she qualifies to have her court costs waived, the suit can continue. I don't know what the time limit is, but I assume if she doesn't act soon, the appeal will be discarded and the ZBA ruling stands unchallenged. The time limit is also out on any new appeals so that's it for the Titan project.

Wouldn't Denise's appeal also be dismissed since she waited until the final day of filing? Thus the original time period expired?

Jordan is moving out of space this week....construction of coffee shop is starting next week. Coffee shop will be open in June regardless of appeal. You may just all need to bring your own mugs as we won't be able to sell "take out".

Not until the case is marked with final dispensation by the clerk is it actually final.

Great news. Point Breeze Ave. will finally have an anchor on the north end, and I suspect that everything west of 20th will become a tiny bit more appealing now.

I believe he's talking about putting it up for sheriff's sale since there's a lean on it and it's over $1,000 or whatever the limit is.

Doesn't the past due amount have to be over $1,500?

She'll undoubtedly work out a payment plan but in the meantime she'll have some frustration to deal with. What you reap is what you sow.
