    Default Scooter Stolen...Need your help

My scooter was stolen from outside of my house last night. It was a baby blue Kymco People 50. The right rear turning signal is currently taped on with blue painters tape.

it was stolen in the PB area. Any help would be greatly appreciate...It was reported to the police, so if you see it, please call them. thanks!!

Also...has any one had their scooter stolen? If so, were you able to recoup any money...a new scooter? Did you do it through your insurance or through home owners. Thanks!

Can you do wheelies on it? If so I'm sure I'll see it flying by my car tomorrow.

I have a friend that had one stolen and got money through his scooter insurance. Did you chain your bike up? Really asking for it to be stolen if not.

yea...I used a chain...but, with that being said, if they want your scooter or motorcycle, chain or three chains, they will get it...This scooter was pressed up against my house, wheel lock on, and dog inside, and they got it without making a sound...AND...for them to steal it, they would have had to lift it up off the ground and into a truck. it would take multiple people to do this. All scooter/motorcycle owners beware.

would love to see these hoodlums get caught. In the meantime maybe something like lojack might help these terds get caught in the future although it is pretty ridiculous to have to do that, although prob expensive but it would it worth it to see these punks locked up!
One can even make their own lojack

to bad cant make a remote seat ejector when the speed reaches 40mph that would be cool.

I'm really sorry to hear that this happened and I hope that the people who did this are found and convicted. Please let us know if there are any developments.

If you used a chain made specifically for securing scooters and motorcycles, the chain manufacturer may give you some cash.

Yeah the type I use gives u 1000 bucks if they broke the chain to get it. Not sure how to prove that unless they leave the broken chain behind. It would be the honorable thing for the theif to do. Of course, I forgot to register mine in time so I don't qualify. Wonder if it is worth spending another 100 bucks on a chain....

the chains are only good for insurance if you pay the yearly fee...its kind of bogus...you can pay full coverage on your insurance for less. Kryptonites is over 100 a year.

Unfortunately even if they're caught the conviction will be a joke and they won't get any significant punishment. On the plus side he might get his scooter back if the thieves still have it. On the minus, he'll have to waste his own time going to court just to get the public defender to take the plea bargain, then he'll be recognizable by a criminal who knows where he lives and who will be out of jail in 2 weeks.

We write a lot of scooter insurance and it usually runs about $75 for the whole year.

Yeah I think $75 is pretty much just liability and not that much. Comprehensive was just quoted to me to be around an extra 150 per year. I think my whole scoot insurance was about 350 for the year.
