does anyone know who this person is? the kids are better off. they had shown one of teh little girls in a baby seat in the back of the police car. that was really sad! the mother has to have drug issues. that seems to be the pattern when babies are left at home and judging by how young they are, she herself has to be fairly young also. sad situation all around.

I used to live on 2000 2nd. Right around the corner. I have to assume this is a case of a bad landlord renting to a terrible person. That is a good area with strong neighbors.

It is sickening.

i agree. i was born and raised down there. the landlord may not have known what she was like or this may have been the first time she has been on her own? could be he gave her a brake having two little ones? god only knows what she told the landlord. you have to see what lives above me all because she gave a good first impression! its just a shame but you hera more and more things like this.

The story has now been updated, the landlord says she hasn't paid rent since MAY, and hasn't responded to eviction notices!? Can't you have someone removed at that point?

I've read you need to prove you have all your rental licenses in order to before you can start legal eviction proceedings. I suspect this landlord was not the quickest to follow up on each every legal step in the proceedings to push it along.

Corner stores are becoming more of an inconvenience rather than a convenience in Whitman.

I find something screwy about this story. The property owner and or store lessee didn't know rats and roaches were in his property? Where was DHS (again)?
