My husband and I ate at The Industry last night (Thursday). I ordered a beer and the scallops and my husband had a $10 cocktail and the guinea hen. The scallops were very good, but for $21 or $22 (I forget the exact price), I was expecting more than 3 scallops. For $12 at Amada, you get 3 scallops. I hardly think the cream of wheat and fava beans are worth the extra $10. I tried some of my husband’s fried guinea hen, and it was good. However, if we go back, we will definitely ask for fries instead of the corn on the cob that the hen comes with. We both took one bite of the corn and had no more; it left a very weird after taste.
In sum, this place has potential. There are some kinks I think they need to work out with their menu. While the décor is nice, there are some major problems with the noise level. We arrived after 8PM, and there were quite a few people there, but it was nowhere near full. There were empty tables on all four sides of our table as well as many empty tables throughout the room. However, I could hardly hear what my husband was saying. At first, I thought the music was too loud, but I think it may be that the room needs some sound absorption. Either way, it was way too loud. We live in the neighborhood, are big fans of Good Dog, and hope to see this place do well; but, we think the place needs to work a few things out.
RETRACTION: I was at the Industry last night and decided to give the burger another shot. It was amazing! A triple with bacon was all the heart-attack inducing goodness it should be. I'd get it again in a heartbeat. I guess the single just was to thin by itself.
Not sure what people's issue is with the noise. I thought it felt lively and exciting in there last night. To each their own, I guess.
