    Default National

Maybe the National debate section should be removed.

    Why?
Owl looked at Rabbit and wondered whether to push him off the tree, but feeling that he could always do it afterward, he tried once more to find out what they were talking about.

Why? I would rather have it there than it spill into the local politics.

It seems to have attracted a particularly vitriolic group of posters. Probably all PFF people who got bored over there. But you are right, maybe they will stay there. And I know, its my fault that it bothers me, I should just stay out of it and stick to South Philly.

Haha not saying it is your fault it bothers you. Just saying getting rid of that forum probably isn't going to stop people from talking about it.

I agree. And anyway, I like the National section, even if the discussions sometimes don't meet my tastes. I think Malloy and company are doing a very fair job of keeping it reasonably civil and, unless they find moderating the section too onerous, I would oppose removing it.

This is true, but I don't help the situation with some of my posts. I read some of the posts and get all riled up and say things that don't contribute positively to the exchange.

Then the safest course of action is to just avoid certain topics/posters, etc. It will save you a lot of grief.

Either that or simply embrace your inner disputant and enjoy.

    Then there is that

I suspect that an inner Hostilitygirl exists in nearly everyone. Some express her far more vociferously than I ever could.

Easier said then done. If I started putting all of the people I had issues with on ban, i wouldn't be able to see half of the board.

But, many of those people still have something to contribute, even if infrequently at best. It's a mental exercise. No need to have all of your buttons pushed. And besides, this is the intarwebz--it's not serious. I suspect that most people who position themselves as so-called "experts" really have jobs at their local CVSs and post from mommy's or daddy's computer when they have nothing better do do....

There should be a separate section for "Texas" in which I can post whatever the heck I want! :P

True, but for me--I tend to express it more in person than on the webz. Which is kind of opposite of the norm. It's sort of wasted when it's on the internets

What sort of things make you so angry in the National debate section?
