If my Photoshopping skills were any better, I would just make the King of Jeans sign couple naked, and paste them onto one of the walls here:

Which, of course, is from the old project, now defunct, but it's still nice to look at.

Any details on why the old project fell through?

I believe the numbers didn't work.

This is an important and likely controversial project for the neighborhood. Come to the meeting if you can.

I'm planning to, I was at the one a few months ago where the original project was presented.

    I found this bit interesting.

The ground floor would consist of 2,980 square feet of retail space. Kaplan said his first choice would be a stable retailer who’d be “a strong anchor,” rather than a restaurant. He has two possible retailers in mind, he said, but declined to name them.
Sounds like a national chain type. Lack of parking could piss off the old timers, national chain the newbies.
"No one wanted to be mayor of Philadelphia. It was a thankless job, which for the first 56 years offered an annual salary of zero. In 1745, two men turned down the position and instead accepted large fines. In 1747, Anthony Morris fled to Bucks County to hide and thus avoid notification of his election. After Morris’s disappearance, a new election was held, and William Atwood was re-elected."

The stand around shop is clearly on the 2nd floor. Sit around will probably take the first floor.

Standing is nice, but I really love me some sitting. Maybe with a side of lying down and sleeping.

    Hehehehe

Can anyone really think of any retail that would go there other than a liquor store or drug store?
