Fire trucks on I-95 overpasses near Chester this afternoon?
I drove to Delaware around 5:30pm today, and as I went south on I-95, I noticed fire trucks on an overpass. And on the next one. And the next 2 after that. They were on all of the overpasses from Chester to Chichester Ave., if I recall. (I got off at Chichester Ave., exit 1, so I don't know about anything beyond that.)
Why would a fire truck be on each overpass, over a stretch of several miles?
I think it was Flag Day, and they were hoisting flags above. I was driving up the Blue Route & saw them as well. Took me about 3 or 4 to figure out what it was about.
Ah, makes sense. I didn't notice any flags, but the presence of fire trucks slowed down traffic at each overpass because of rubbernecking.
Thanks for the info!
