I would suggest looking in West Philly/University City area. You will be near lots of hospitals (Penn & CHOP just to name an illustrious two) and and easy jump to Center City via trolley should you land at Hahnemann, Jefferson, (just to name another illustrious two) or any one of thousands of doctor's offices. West Philly has a very nice family vibe if you get in the right block, and back yards are a possibility there. Plus, if you play your cards right, you can land your children in the Penn Alexander school district and they will be schooling with the U Penn and Drexel professor's kids - great school system. We also have an excellent charter school system that may be a bit more difficult to navigate. I wish I was a nurse just moving to Philly....the world is your oyster. Best of luck, and welcome to the city.

Hey there--I'm a former Rochesterian, University of Rochester graduate, University at Buffalo Law graduate. Welcome. For your budget, it's going to be rough finding something in the city--I'd suggest Wissahickon--Cook-Wissahickon is a good local catchment and isn't quite as trendy as surrounding areas so the rent is a little lower. Also, you may have some luck in certain areas of Ardmore--the town is cute and walkable.

The Charter schools will most likely be out of reach this year due to the fact that the school year has started and the lottery has passed. Private message me if you need help finding a rental--I have a few agents who work for me that could assist.
