dont taze me bro!
In that above crime report, three of them show an utter lack of common sense on the "complainant's" part.
They got what they deserved for their stupidity.
"Accept the fact that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue"
ill make it 2... The first is obviously the robbery, the second is the idiot who left the GPS in his window. I guess NE19149 is referring to the third as the guy who left his backpack in the car, which is a debatable point as far as stupidity goes.

What did your parents tell you about picking up trannie hookers outside Pure and bringing them home???

2nd and Spruce before 9:00 PM? This city is f--ed up. I'm in Manhattan once a month and haven't even seen a panhandler yet. NY and DC do a good job of keeping the ghetto in the ghetto.
The parts of DC you've probably been in have an overwhelming security/police presence that does produce a de facto "segregation" between the homeless and the corridors of power, especially post 9/11 where the definition of "suspicious" has been broadened, but you can still see it if you look for it.
In NYC, the city's huge, so the homeless population is more dilluted/spread through the city. The reason you see so many homeless panhandling in Center City is because so much of the money in the city is concentrated there, so its one of the few places to successfully panhandle, and also have access to the warmth of the SEPTA concourse, etc.
The result is a perception problem for people who don't fully grasp the issue.
To the post topic, there were rumors of a "tazer bandit" last year operating around 5th/Reed or so. I proposed some vigilantes gear up in insulated wetsuits to take the guy on, but it never happened, even through "Tazer Bandit vs. Rubbersuit Man" would've been the best S. Philly Review headline of all time. Maybe the civic around 2nd/Pine can find an A Team needing the work.

Where, just WHERE in my previous posts about this, did I infer that ANY of those "stupid things" was any more "stupid" then the other?
As far as I'm concerned, and let me clarify... they're all reasons to show more common sense out on the streets of Philly, or any crime-prone city for that matter.
So, to quote your earlier comment "So if someone forgets to take their backpack out of their car, they deserve to have their windows smashed. Right."
Yes, they do, for being stupid.
Ignorance of leaving articles of value in view inside a car has been talked about for years... anyone still doing it pays the price for being a fool.
"Accept the fact that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue"
He's not justifying anything. He is merely stating an oft-repeated fact, here and in other major cities. And frankly, it should be commonsense. When you leave anything visible in a car, you run the very increased risk of damage to said car in order to steal visible items.
Now, back to your corner and take a time out.
I would rather be a bitch than dense!
I said it before and I'll say it again...Raider.Adam for mayor!
