I am going to try this again. The first attempt didn't take since FF crashed, woo, and my work was for naught. I am breaking this down into sections, and hope that SouthStreetMan, Arlee, Noah and Shosh pipe in.

If this is a resource list for people who live IN these areas, there's a lot that could be added. For example, although it may technically be in Pennsport, the state liquor store on Delaware and Washington is closer for many QV people than the one on the 700 block of South Street, plus it has the added convenience of parking (for transporting those cases of wine and whiskey).

In the ATM category, I wouldn't limit it to banks -- the 24/7 on Second/Christian and the Wawa in Head House Square both offer surcharge free ATMs.

There's a laundromat on Queen and 4th, although I'm not sure I would "recommend" it.

Cleaners include one at Catharine and 2nd, Bobby Schorr's on 2nd in Head House Square, one at 5th and Passyunk (with a drive through), and another at 3rd and Lombard (which may technically be Society Hill).

Pet Groomers include one that recently changed ownership/name on 4th just below South, and Queen Village Groomers on 2nd near Fitzwater.

    More resources:

    Neighborhood Activities

Bardascino Park (10th and Carpenter Streets)
See Webpage for more information including a sign-up for general clean-up volunteers!!.

Friends of Bardascino Park "Music in the Park" concert series begins with the Frank Jackson Big Band "The Swinging Sounds of Jazz"

DELAYED FROM MONDAY - Tuesday, July 1st, 7 p.m. (rain date to be announced if needed)
    Bring your own chair.

Cianfrani Park (8th and Fitzwater Streets)
    See Webpage for more information

Dr. Ketchup Concert in Cianfrani Park that was cancelled due to rain, is rescheduled for July 10

Palumbo City Park (700 Block of Catharine)

The newly formed group, Friends of Palumbo Park, encourages neighbors and users of the park located adjacent to the Fleisher Art Memorial on Catharine Street to join neighbors in several activities to improve and maintain the park:

    * Regular Clean ups - monthly Palumbo Park Clean Up, slated for 9am to noon on the last Saturday of each month (rain date the following saturday). Neighbors and park users are invited to bring rakes and lightweight shovels -- the park has plenty of trees but no grass -- and stay as long as they can or are able.
    * Meetings - regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. Time and place will be posted, along with any updates, in the center of the park.

    Triangle Park (6th and Passyunk/Christian)

The old Amoco station at Sixth, Passyunk and Christian is no more....This small triangle of land has sat vacant for several years. Now an enterprising group of Bella Vistans is lobbying hard to turn this spot into a permanent green space.

Default How Do We Build This Listing?

As a long time resident, I have come to know and use a great many of the excellent resources within walking distance of QV/BV. How do we contribute that information to "the list"?

As a new resident, I'm looking for resources for dog owners -- best vet, best groomer, best dog park, best pet supply store, etc.
