Restaurant Suggestion

The wife and I are going to see G Love tomorrow at the TLA and we want to have a low hassell sit down meal in the vicinity before the show. I’m not down on that end of town for dinner very often so I’m looking for suggestions. We are open to any type of food but the place needs to serve alcohol (no BYO).

Well the new Redwood is on the same block and while I won't be going until tomorrow night, seems more than decent. The options are pretty endless, actually. What do you think you'll want? Italian, French, Asian, Seafood, something else?

I've wanted to try both Supper and Percy St. but I really want to be closer to the venue. Redwood sounds interesting but their website certainly doesn't tell me much. I'm in the mood to try anything so I don't mind going in blind. The only stipulation is that I want to be within a block or two and can't spend 2 hours dining.

The menu at redwood is tiny, I would not count on finding something for dinner but check out the menu, it's right next door. Ive only had snacks there so far but was pleasantly surprised with the food quality given that its the same kitchen as Copabanana (which is underrated and has great burgers btw). My three favorite restaurants around there are Las Bugambilias, Nomad pizza, and Famous Fourth.

By the way...two thumbs up for Redwood (even if they do need a website redesign!) Good place, great wines and beers; good food. And the place was packed tonight with people going to the G Love Show.

Yeah-they're really cornering the pre-tla market. BTW-speaking of which, the blarney was sold again, and this time the investor is clearing out the place, renovating, and wants to work hard to attract the pre and post tla crowd.
