Oh, I hope they're not collecting today. I have a TON of trash that I didn't put out because trash day is supposed to be tomorrow.
I was going to ask the same question. I saw a truck on 3rd Street early this morning, they seemed to be picking up the trash that was put out today, people who never seem to remember about holidays. It hardly seemed worth the trip, though, because very few people had trash out, most will probably have it out for pick-up tomorrow.
Came a day late for us. Usually Wednesday, but picked up Thursday. I did hear a truck early Wednesday, so I rushed out with the trash, but it was just emptying dumpsters on the next block.

I didn't put trash out either.
Spoke to one of the guys, they said that they were coming through today collecting what was out and tomorrow is the day. Maybe it makes sense because they were next door in BV? I guess one upside is less trash/recycling blowing around for 24 hours.
There's the garbage service for restaurants only that runs daily. Maybe they decided to be nice and pick up the ones on the sidewalk this morning? Hah, I doubt it.
Recycle is not collected yet btw.
Wow, I'm really good about remembering holidays and totally forgot this time! I put it out - and both my trash and recycling were collected by 10 am (QV)
My trash and recycling were also picked up, as usual, on Friday. I do see that some of the neighbors have put trash out tonight expecting a Saturday pickup.
My friend works for the city sanitation and I asked him the same question a few years back; he said that if the scheduled route finishes early, they will go tackle 'tomorrow's route' a day sooner ... fact is, trash is bumped a day for holidays - but they still don't work on Sundays. So, post-holiday, they have to squeeze six days worth of work into five days to get back on track.
Trash gone.
