It's nice to know you can get gunned down while walking the dog at 5:45 a.m.
Rise and shine. Dog wagging its tail. Big yawn. Grab a cup of coffee. Walk outside. Get your face blown off.
Awesome.

Yeah I'd like to know if that comment has any basis. I was up and about this morning only a few blocks from this location and it'd be nice to know if it was random like that.
When I first saw the story, though, my immediate thought process went - 12th and Bainbridge - projects - drugs. I hope it was that and not an attempted robbery or something random... Only live a few blocks away and I pass through this intersection often.
That neighborhood went to hell as soon as Penn Steaks left.
Right by the MLK Homes... errr "Plaza".
Go figure.

I live on that block and called 911. I woke because I heard gun shots. I looked out my window and saw the 23 bus at 12th and kater not moving, i looked towards bainbridge and saw a dark van with its blinkers on, a split second later i noticed a man on the ground next to the drivers side of the van. I called 911 and went outside where a crowd was starting to gather and then the police showed up moments later. There was no dog, no big gulp nothing like that. They don't know what the motive was last time i checked, but the man who was killed had several friends and family members on the block. Thats all I know, don't know if it helps.

All are rap videos featuring the deceased. Make your own conclusions about why he was murdered.
It's the same sh*t that happens a few blocks west on a daily basis. Nothing to get worried about just "HOOD"issues you wouldn't know about. nobody's gunning down whitey
How many of you were here when the towers were occupied?

I just drove by on my way home. There is a large number of people looking on and a memorial developing. I hate those things; I wish people would spend the money where it might actually benefit someone.
Doesn't matter. Simply in the area when 4 hi-rise towers stood and were occupied.
No one can compare then to now.
There are some problem houses in the area and some illegal activty still goes on, but compared to before, it is like a suburb.
When we had sectors, the projects consisted of 3 sectors. Each car was responsible for about one or two square blocks.
With the addition of 777 South Broad Street it can't get much better.

I love paying to house crack dealers and murderers. It's so awesome.

Just curious where you got the links / how you know? Most I've seen is the victim was Robert McKee (Metro).
