Front and Bainbridge Police Activity

Hi everyone, I was walking my dog on Front Street at 5:15 this morning and I noticed 3 police cars on the side of the road near Bainbridge. As I got closer I saw all the officers were outside their vehicles. There were 2 bikes on the sidewalk and 2 youngish white or Latino males sitting on the curb in restraints. I couldn't see too well because the sun wasn't up. Does anyone know what went down?

I wonder if this was related to the activity I saw around Front & Pemberton around 9:00am. There was a white shirt PPD in an SUV walking around, and another cop a block or so behind him. Cop 1 got back in the SUV, the both drove up Kenilworth.

South Philly Striders meet 6:15 am at Front/South we saw at least 3 police cars and numerous cops walking around at Front/Bainbridge. No idea what was going on hoped to find details online later. As we were about to head across the South Street walkway bridge a black car pulls up with 4 young guys. The front passenger yells free bikes across there (meaning on the South Street walkway). There were two unlocked bikes. No idea what that meant and the guys drove off quickly.

After a 911 call the males were caught by police breaking into a parked car and were arrested.

Good job! Catching all of them probably saved 20 other cars down the road-at least for the time being until the idiots are back at it.

I don't think the two were related.

Unless they had to wait for an owner or fingerprint the car or if they went back to look for something.

I think it was just a coincidence.

Really? Good to know. It is rare to see that kind of presence in QV, but certainly appreciated, especially with the rash of stuff going on.
