Default PGW contractors being awesome by stealing property when out of cones.

They've been screwing with this property for weeks. When they finally chose to fill it in with concrete? They don't have enough cones, so they walk down the street and snap chains off to steal a news box to block their half assed job. PGW, awesome as always.

Has anybody noticed the new crop of PGW field workers is really young?

I'm guessing PGW went on a recent hiring spree to pick up line repairmen who are willing to risk an explosion or two replacing our 100+ yo cast iron...

Pgw subs out the cement work. They do a bid process every year and guys compete but it's a hard way to make money. You have to do a lot of squares in one day to make it worth your while.

As for Pgw having younger guys, I've not noticed that. Seems consistent, I think the crews on the street to a pretty good job from what I've seen.

And how does that justify stealing a box that costs at least a few hundred dollars?

It doesn't. I think stock is just saying PGW didn't steal the box, the subcontractor did.

At the moment it is still there-yes, thanks to PGW.

I agree 100%. Just because you sub out the work does not mean you aren't responsible for the outcome. If you're reaping the profits, you also should reap the risk. Comcast tries to use this excuse all the time and it shouldn't fly for them either.

No matter who is to blame, the issue should be reported either at seeclickfix.com or by calling 311. Or just move the g-d honor box and be done with it.

You're right on the subs work. I was actually referring to the comment just before my first one (number 2) about PGW workers.

Comcast is why I'm so vehement when it comes to subcontractors. They hire complete thugs that have assaulted older people over cable boxes. It's ridiculous behavior that gets swept under the table under the 'subcontractor' guise.

I've found the PGW crew staff to be hard working and polite. I've seen them fix a gas line on my street when they had to work for the better part of two days in the pouring rain and they didn't stop until it was fixed.

I wish PGW would snap off all those crappy looking newspaper boxes and take them all to the recycling station. They are major eye-sores and you can get the same freebee papers inside stores all over the place anyway.
