    Default Gas Leak?

I just got a text from a neighbor saying there is a gas leak in queen village. Does anyone have any details?

I haven't heard anything, but when my kids and I left their dentist at 6th and Chestnut at 9:30 am the smell of gas in the streets was overpowering.

Yeah I thought it smelled funny when I left for work today (around 9:30) but I didn't think the smell was gas.

A person named Sparky needs to keep away from there.

    Default Maybe?

I have not smelled anything during my walks today, but did seee two PGW trucks and a crew out on Front Street between Catahoula and Village Belle. They were walking around with some kind of hand held meter thingy (looked very Star Treky). This was around 12:30pm.

That block has had problems for years. At least once a year they are ripping the street up to fix a major leak.

Gas leaks happen on an almost daily basis in QV. One night I caught 3 within a few blocks. The guys came out, and each one did turn out to be a separate fault along pemberton. The neighborhood really wasn't happy about that one since I caught it around 12:30, and digging went all night.

Not sure if related, but PGW was ripping up 300 Fitzwater this afternoon c1530. Also heard about leak concerns in the vicinity of 9th and South--PGW declared all clear before 1130

I can believe it. Even with a mild earthquake, it probably broke up many old faults in the lines.

They should thank you. Maybe you saved their homes from exploding.

hehehehe... you'd think-but even my then wife was complaining up a storm. They had two crews on pemberton and one crew on front going all night and all day. She got no sleep and then had to go work at Cooper Hospital all day-not a happy camper...hahahaha

That happened to me... I could smell it coming strongly right outside my house, a bit more in front of my neighbors... I called PGW at 10pm... after milling around in my basement then the neighbors, they decided it was in the sidewalk, and started digging...around midnight on a thursday, not fun-and the bar across the street was bascially told not to allow people to smoke for the rest of the night outside, so all the smokers hated me, in addition to the neighbors. Oh well, I wanted to wake up alive..lol

This was a few months ago, by the way, not due to earthquake.
