    Default AT&T Service Outage / 19147

So, I noticed yesterday that my partner and I can no longer get onto the AT&T network from our home; after doing the traditional bug checks and such, realized that I could access apps thanks to my WIFI, just not make calls/text -- i figured it was a 'sign' to have the night off from being reached on the phone and went to bed. A couple times my cell would chime several times as old texts came through at once. Then back to being offline.

Now, having just gotten back from walking the dog in Dickinson Square, I disabled my WIFI and wind up either 'searching' or occasionally landing on the Edge network.

Did a bit of digging and the only online report I can find that this is a bigger problem than my account is this thread:

No Data in Philadelphia 19107 - AT&T Community Support

So - fellow AT&T users in Philly - especially those in 19147 - any problems??

    YES.

    I rebooted.
    I updated/restored software.
I toggled between on/off Airplane Mode. (per Apple's troubleshooting page)

Finally this morning it seems to be back. *sigh*

No problems in 19149 or 19125 (Mayfair and Fishtown). However Mayfair always has a weak signal which is normal.

Ditto - seems to be back to normal around 8:30am today ... probably something needed to be rebooted on their end and, once the morning crew came in - it was tackled.

    Anyway - thanks gang

You guys must have a Fawlty Tower.

Never had a problem with my ATT service down at the CG base, I'm there 2-3 times a week.

Funny you should mention this. I was having problems calling, texting, and surfing the web on my iPhone in Glenolden (Delco). I assumed it was a local issue, but perhaps it was more widespread.

Oh the horror of not being able to use your "aps".
    Take a bath.

cute attempt at snark -- its not the apps, it's the phone service (calling/texting) that is dropping out.

    But thanks for your concern.

Well, your input was very useful. Thanks.

My service just dropped out again while on the phone with my boss. So I had to drive to the office to speak with him in person. Perfect. At least Angry Birds still works.

Coverage in my house and around the area in 19148 has been really bad for weeks. Just returned to the city fro NYC and no service whatsoever. Have problems when working in 19104 as well.
