    Default SEPTA Transitview profoundly broken?

Seems to be broken for at least the 7 bus on two recent days I tried to use it. Most of the time it shows only northbound buses. One would think that what goes up must come down. Just minutes ago I missed a southbound bus from my corner just as I stepped out my door, even though there are no southbound buses on the map at this moment.

Seeing the same problem on the other site that uses SEPTA's data feed:

I may have overstated the issue, but it certainly affects the route 7. A cursory examination of a few other routes shows a mix of buses traveling in both directions, but still not a single southbound bus anywhere on the 7.

EDIT: and now finally there is a southbound bus on the map.

Transitview will always be in beta due to many reasons, but for reason why some buses dont show up:

*the GPS loses the bus, and with hundreds of buses, it happens....

*the driver didn't log in to the system, which also happens.

*The app may be outdated with information.

While not perfect, its better then nothing...

I use the free version of SeptaDroid, and the 7 looks normal as of right now. How long has this been going on? The 40 was wonky yesterday, but I think that was because storm detours confused the system.

It's Septa - did you really expect anything to work the way it's supposed to?

I was going to say, at least it's better than Trainview. Trains that are running 20, 30 or 40 minutes late are regularly listed as "On Time". This is especially bad on the lines run by Amtrak due to lack of communication between Amtrak and SEPTA. Of course, whenever SEPTA is contacted about this, they just blame Amtrak instead of trying to find a solution.

I honestly don't see what's so complicated about installing GPS tracking on all trains, busses and trolleys where the driver logs in at the beginning of the route, gives the route number/origin, and it's then transmitted to a central server. Heck, Google already has the infrastructure for this, I'm sure they could easily work out an API to integrate it into a mobile site.
