Default SEPTA vs the Frankenstorm: System-wide disruptions thread

Nothing from SEPTA yet, but here is what is going to be down that we know of since we been though this last year and it doesn't take much for these areas to flood:

    • Regional Rail: West Trenton, Manayunk/Norristown, Warminster, and Chestnut Hill West Lines
    • Bus: Routes 1, 9, 27, 35, 38, 61, 62, 65, 124, 125, R, and K
    • Trolley/High Speed: Routes, 10,11, 13, 15, 34, 36, 101, 102, and the Norristown High Speed Line
    • In addition, if we get heavy rain the parking lots at Bethayres, Jenkintown-Wyncote, Crestmont, Spring Mill, Conshohocken, and Miquon Stations are likely be flooded.

and of course SEPTA will be on Twitter all through out the storm:

Rumor SEPTA SYSTEM WIDE SHUT DOWN may happen starting at 5PM...Which makes sense since the Eagles game will be over by then....

I am guessing they will give attendees enough time to get home from the BSL ...

Why wasn't Trenton included on this list? It was shut the longest last year after the flooding from Irene. Did they do some major work around Trenton to prevent it from flooding again?

That's kind of moot now, since they're shutting down the entire system effective 12:30am tonight.

IDK, this was SEPTA standard PR release, so I think it didn't include that Trenton thing last year....But it will be updated by Tuesday if something happens. Right now NO service anywhere tomorrow..

Just a reminder that there is NO NIGHT-OWL service tonight for the EL or the BSL, which means the LAST TRAIN is the LAST train....

Seeing that there isn't a enforcement of people to stay off the roads, its probably up to the individual drivers if they want to risk it...

Know this is a few hours old, but fwiw taxis are out and about, bars are open, and no one is working tomorrow...so if you can walk or grab a cab, go out and enjoy yourselves. Doesn't happen often.

Latest update is that it is going to take SEPTA 8hrs to get all service up and running(i.e Buses Trolleys and Regional Rail)

If they try AFTER 2AM tonight when the wind dies dowm it can be bac up and running by 10AM-11AM.

the BSL and EL are RUNNING right now, but no word when they will be reopen to the public, but it shoudl be the first thing.

the NHSL is still up in the air along with routes 101 an 102 and Trenton and Manayunk Regional Rail lines...

Nutter was just on TV, he said that SEPTA won't start assessing the system until 6am so there will definitely be no morning service and probably no evening service. He also confirmed that the BSL and El would likely be the first services to restart. But why do they need to assess the whole system before they can start running buses?

Detours and such for each line need to be drawn out if needed before they go out. the EL and BSL are under and above grond and can bypass most of the damage...

As stated it takes 8hrs so 1PM it is...give or take 2PM

Working in coordination with the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management Services, SEPTA General Manager Joseph Casey and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter announced the following services have been restored as of noon today:

    Broad Street Line
    Market-Frankford Line
    Routes 10, 11, 13, 15, 34 and 36 Trolley lines
    Norristown High Speed Line
    Route 102 Sharon Hill Line
80 percent of city bus routes (with minor detours)
60 percent of suburban bus routes (with minor detours)
Route 101 Media Line, as far as Woodland Avenue

Regional Rail service is still suspended. Restoring service has been a challenge due to
fallen trees, downed wires and signal issues. A full assessment of the Regional Rail lines is currently being performed and tree removal activities have been ongoing. Further updates will be provided regarding Regional Rail service for tomorrow's morning rush.

The route formerly known as the 100 is fine....Luckly the water wasn't as near high as last year was....

The Manayunk/Norristown didn't fare as well, and that is TBA when they get rid of all the trees off the line...
