Default SEPTA New Bus Designs for the next five years....

So Novabus design for the next gen SEPTA buses leaked:

    SEPTA Novabuses

They are much more bulkier then the New Flyers out there....But I cant wait for the new Articulated as the old ones are just about done(and the ADA accessibility is a pain)...

I thought they wanted to dump articulated buses all together.

no, never, they just had to replace the first gen New Flyer ones, as they weren't low level and hybrid.

I feel like they're starting to look old and boxy. I find myself admiring the sleeker buses other big east coast cities have.

Also, don't understand why they have to forever stick with the mostly white livery. It shows dirt and grime so much more than darker colors.

The newer NFs are not boxy at all. They look sleeker and more modern than these new Novas IMO. I also like how the rear sign sticks up on the NFs.

My bad, i thought you were referring to the prior NF models. The new NFs are better, but I feel like the front of these have more of a swooped back front and (maybe my imagination) a bigger windshield. Now that I'm looking back at pics of the new NFs, it's not as big of a difference as I first was thinking. The bumped out rear signs are nice.

I wish all the trolleys were green and yellow like the 15. MTA and NJT buses are mostly white, aren't they? That may be a lost cause.

Yeah, but other cities have colored buses, it's not like they have to be white. it just makes more sense to me to have colors for the same reason why landlords put dark carpeting in rental units.

Key difference there is the Circulator doesn't have external advertising. White makes a nice backdrop for just about any ad.

Pretty sure ads still work against other colors:

I guess it can be read that way, but I did not mean to argue that white is the only backdrop that works with advertising. Just that it is more accommodating.

Its only because SEPTA is trying to cut down on its carbs. Badumbump.

HEY this is a thread for people who are interested in looking at pictures of buses and images of hypothetical buses, okay? There's nothing funny about any of this so take your goofarounds elsewhere thank you

In that case by carbs I meant carbon emissions, hence the new hybrid buses of course.

Though many might argue SEPTA is getting a little large around its middle management section.
