    what do they consider "high speed" for a bike? Average is 8 to 10 mph

    It's about fewer stop signs and red lights. They slow the average speed across town a lot.

    That is about the average speed of a SEPTA bus, the last time I checked the #61 travels about 8MPH.

    On Kelly Dr. on my morning commute I would average about 24MPH easily, and there were people going considerable faster. Of course in traffic I would average about 12MPH (stopping for lights, stop signs, etc.)

    I'm gonna take it your not a girl riding a "75" rusted Ross with a dress on and flip flops which seems to be 80% of city bike riders. Most dudes ride the same way minus the dress.
