    Default SEPTA Zone 2

Hey. I moved this week to Wynnewood and was wondering what Zone 2 encompasses. When we got our weekly passes a couple days ago, we were given Zone 2 passes based on where we work. We know it works on the Broad Street line (at least going southbound to the AT&T stop) because we used it to go there today but was wondering if anyone knew what our limitations were if we continue on with Zone 2 passes. We plan to move to monthly next month. Thanks in advance!

This should answer most or all of your questions:

The short anwser is there are NO limitations on Zone 2 Passes, you can use them pretty much on any mode of transit(Outside of zone 3-5) and its almost unlimited*

But they are more then just a Monthly Transpass, but with a monthly you can only ride Buses, Trolleys, the Norristown High Speed Line and the Subway/El.

You mean if you use a trailpass on a turnstile/farebox that reads the strip? I did not know they're counting. What's their idea of too many?

SEPTA's not currently counting (aside from the fact that you can't swipe your Trans/TrailPass at the same station twice within a half-hour). However, they will be able to tell how many times you swipe once New Payment Technologies (NPT) goes into effect. SEPTA says unlimited use passes will still be the policy once NPT goes into effect, although there are some who would like to put a cap on unlimited. Their idea of too many under NPT currently depends on who you talk to.

If you have an opinion on whether or not unlimited use passes should remain, let the Delaware Valley Association of Rail Passengers (DVARP) know. You can shoot me an e-mail at the address in my signature below. I'd say we're leaning towards strongly advocating for keeping the unlimited use passes, although there's a little bit of dissent on the economics of such fare media. We really want to know what all of you think.

you can use it at all zone 2 or lower regional rail stations on weekdays. and outside of rush hour, you can go to Torresdale (a zone 3 station). and if you want to travel to a station beyond zone 2 from center city, use the pass with an intermediate ticket. on weekends and major holidays, you can use it everywhere septa goes without any extra charge.

and i hope they keep the unlimited rides. i often swipe 3-4 times a day in addition to using it on the regional rail. when im in the city, i have no car, and i rely on my pass as a cheap way to get around. and besides, i think most people don't swipe their passes morethan 4-6 times a day. and a lot of the people on the regional rail keep their cards in card holders, and i think most of the passengers haven't taken them out since they've bought it

TransPasses are also good for the first zone fare on any suburban surface transit route that hubs at 69th Street Terminal - and for trips between Center City and the airport on the Airport Line.

Only for routes to/from 69th Street? Does not apply on other routes that cross a zone? I know the Airport Line is mentioned on the webpage for the Transpass, but I don't remember reading this.

Actually, I think it's good for the first zone fare on any bus route.

Yes, there are all those fringe policies that most riders have no idea about, they just make things even more complicated when you go to the lower tile transpasses.

Which is why sticking with Zone 2 is the better option, especially when you are getting that nice transitchek discount.
